Sir Gareth Southgate's interview this morning on Radio 4 Today (from c7.45am) was compelling and music to our ears at CPRMB (https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/m002x5rs). A must listen for anyone with an interest in the issues facing men and boys today. He speaks with such great sense.
His documentary, Gareth Southgate: Changing the Game for Young Men is on BBC One at 9.00pm on Monday 8th June. It promises to be genuinely thought-provoking, and a potential game-changer for the sector: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/ckgp5g34kzpo.
He shows a real understanding of and compassion for the challenges and solutions facing so many young men today, and his intervention is timely with male NEET numbers reaching a 14-year high
Sir Gareth recognises the need to reform the education system to provide greater emphasis on vocational education, increasing apprenticeship opportunities and finding more male mentors
It's a key reason why we at Centre for Policy Research on Men and Boys are hosting the Boys' Education Commission led by Peter Hyman. Please follow the latter as the work is starting soon.
