Shuab Gamote is a researcher, writer, and policy adviser focused on youth opportunity and political engagement. His work uses deep listening and qualitative research to understand how young people are navigating education, work, identity, and politics.
Shuab is co-author of Inside the Mind of a 16-year-old, a nationally recognised report on Gen Z’s attitudes, aspirations, and anxieties.
He is a former Political Leadership Scholar at the Blavatnik School of Government, University of Oxford and previously worked in higher education, where he published in international journals and won awards for his research on student belonging. During this time, he spoke at conferences and events around the world on education, inclusion and youth participation.
Shuab is a board member at One Million Mentors, a national charity connecting young people with mentors to help them realise their potential.
His current projects include working on the Milburn Review into Young People and Work, being appointed as the Current Affairs Commissioner for the Economist Educational Foundation Commission and Strategic Advisory Group member at the Centre for Digital Information Literacy in Schools.
