Miles Johnson
Miles is a Researcher at The Children's Society, bringing a strong background in quantitative methods alongside an understanding of the political landscape. He's driven to use evidence to inform political debate and improve young people's everyday lives. Miles works on the nationally recognised Good Childhood Report, understanding children and young people's subjective wellbeing, particularly exploring gender differences in wellbeing, alongside conducting workshops with Young Advisors to explore the data and propose changes to support young people's wellbeing. As a member of the Boys Education Commission's Expert Panel, Miles draws on a strong track record of youth engagement, having previously worked as a Young Advisor supporting organisations to embed young people's perspectives into their work. This combination of data analysis and direct engagement gives him a rounded understanding of the barriers boys face, and how services and policy can be better designed around their real needs. Outside of work, Miles volunteers as a youth leader at his church's youth group, supporting children and young people directly. He is committed to making a lasting difference for the next generation of boys, believing that meaningful change comes from combining solid evidence with genuinely listening to those young people themselves.
