Manifest, the inaugural Global Summit for Men and Boys, will be held at the QEII Centre, Westminster, on Thursday 17 June 2027. The summit is launched today by the Centre for Policy Research on Men and Boys (CPRMB) in the UK in partnership with the American Institute for Boys and Men (AIBM).
Awareness of the challenges facing men and boys is no longer marginal. It sits across politics, policy, education and newsrooms. Richard Reeves' Of Boys and Men, Sir Gareth Southgate's Richard Dimbleby Lecture and Netflix's Adolescence are visible cultural landmarks in a much wider shift, a public, political and professional conversation that is now impossible to look past.
There has never been a global sector summit for the people doing the work. Practitioners, researchers, policymakers, grass-roots organisations and funders working with men and boys have operated for years without a shared global platform. Manifest is that platform.
The keynote programme is anchored by two of the voices doing most to move the conversation.
Richard Reeves has become a defining voice on men and boys internationally. He was Washington Correspondent and Economics Correspondent for The Guardian, Society Editor of The Observer, Director of the London think tank Demos, and Director of Strategy to Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg until 2012. He moved to the Brookings Institute, where his book Of Boys and Men: Why the Modern Male Is Struggling, Why It Matters, and What to Do About It became a reference point for policymakers on both sides of the Atlantic. In 2023 he founded the American Institute for Boys and Men to focus on the outcomes of men and boys as a matter of evidence.
Scott Galloway is Clinical Professor of Marketing at NYU Stern and, through his Prof G podcast and column, one of the widest-heard voices on the crisis facing young men. Notes on Being a Man is his direct account of what has gone wrong for boys and young men and what a workable model of modern masculinity looks like. The Prof G Pod holds the subject in front of a mainstream listenership each week.
Further speakers, drawn from across the sector, will be announced in the coming weeks. Ten mainstage Spotlights curated by CPRMB carry the sector's own voices on the day. A further set of advocacy slots in the breakout rooms carry practitioner and research argument straight from the floor.
Nick Isles, Director, Centre for Policy Research on Men and Boys, said. "The people working with men and boys in this country and elsewhere do serious work, largely on their own and without sufficient sight of one another. Manifest, delivered with our partners at the American Institute for Boys and Men, is the sector's first shared global platform."
Richard Reeves, President of the American Institute for Boys and Men, said, "The evidence on outcomes for boys and men, in education, mental health and early mortality, is now clear enough on both sides of the Atlantic that the argument has moved from whether to what. Manifest brings the people best placed to answer that question together. AIBM is a partner in it because the work is transatlantic and international and the fields on either side need to move in parallel."
Manifest will conclude with the signing of a ten-point Accord reflecting the issues and actions those gathered will address in the coming year.
