Paddy Crump
Paddy Crump is a mental health and digital wellbeing campaigner. Drawing on his lived experience of OCD and depression, he has campaigned since 2021 for better mental health support for young people and to reduce the stigma around mental health. Paddy is Campaigns Director at FlippGen, a youth led organisation campaigning for a healthier and safer digital world. He leads campaigns on issues including addictive technology, digital literacy, online safety and the impact of artificial intelligence on young people. His work brings together young people, policymakers, charities and technology organisations to turn lived experience and youth insight into meaningful change. Alongside his work at FlippGen, Paddy volunteers with organisations including Words Matter, campaigning to eradicate childhood verbal abuse, and Barnardo’s, where he works to challenge online misogyny. He also advises researchers at the University of Birmingham on mental health research, helping ensure research reflects the experiences of the people it seeks to understand. Previously, Paddy founded The Hero Project, a youth mental health organisation, and has worked with organisations including Mind and YoungMinds. Across his work, he is passionate about putting young people at the heart of the decisions that affect their lives.
