The Centre for Policy Research on Men and Boys conducts non-partisan research on issues that affect the well-being of boys and men across the UK and designs programmes and policies to help them thrive. We are the only national research organisation dedicated to addressing all of the issues affecting boys and men. It is a registered charity (charity number: 1215012).

The Events and Communications Officer will lead the delivery, and promotion of CPRMB’s events and communications activity, helping ensure that CPRMB’s research and policy work reaches policymakers, funders, practitioners, media, and the wider public. They will also act as Secretary to the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Men and Boys.
This is a practical, outward-facing role combining communications delivery, event management, stakeholder engagement, and content production, with a strong emphasis on professionalism, sensitivity, and policy impact.
● Help plan and deliver CPRMB events, including:
○ Policy briefings and roundtables
○ Conferences and seminars
○ Stakeholder workshops
○ Fringe events at party conferences
○ APPG on Men and Boys meetings
● Manage event logistics: venues, speakers, agendas, registrations, AV, accessibility, and materials.
● Coordinate speakers, partners, and moderators, ensuring clear briefing and smooth delivery.
● Support hybrid and online events, including webinars and live-streamed sessions.
● Deliver CPRMB’s external communications across digital, print, and stakeholder channels.
● Draft and edit a range of content including:
○ News and announcements
○ Event promotions and summaries
○ Policy briefings and explainers(working with researchers)
○ Website and newsletter content
● Liaise with CPRMB’s professional PR and Social Media advisers.
● Support media engagement, including preparing press notices, briefings, and reactive statements.
● Ensure all communications reflect CPRMB’s values, safeguarding standards, and evidence-based approach.
● Act as a key point of contact for event partners, speakers, and attendees.
● Maintain and develop stakeholder contact lists and mailing databases.
● Support relationship-building with policymakers, funders, community organisations, and partner institutions.
● Represent CPRMB professionally at external events when required.
● Maintain CPRMB’s visual identity and tone of voice across communications.
● Ensure compliance with safeguarding, data protection, and responsible communications guidelines—particularly on sensitive topics such as suicide and mental health.
● Monitor communications performance(engagement, reach, attendance) and contribute to learning and improvement.
● Proven experience in a communications, events, or engagement role.
● Strong written communication skills, with the ability to adapt content for different audiences.
● Experience planning and delivering professional events.
● Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
● Confidence working with senior stakeholders and external partners.
● Comfortable handling sensitive subject matter responsibly and professionally.
● Commitment to CPRMB’s mission and values.
● Experience working in policy, research, charity, or public-sector environments or in Parliament.
● Experience supporting events at party conferences or similar high-profile settings.
● Familiarity with digital communications tools (CMS, email platforms, social media scheduling).
● Basic design skills (e.g. Canva, InDesign) or experience working with designers.
● Understanding of UK political and policy processes.

Working pattern
Full-time: 35 hours per week.
Hybrid: 2–3 days in the office (varies week to week). Office is in Westminster, Central London
